Men’s Ministry - Military Families Support
Chaparral is part of the Arizona Coalition for Military Families. As such, Chaparral has adopted the families of the 2/285th Aviation Battalion (AZ National Guard). These soldiers deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in October 2009, and will serve 12 months in Iraq. In the meantime, these soldiers' families are left behind in Arizona. Chaparral is seeking to ease the burden on these families by hosting meetings for their Family Readiness Group, with full childcare and food included as a blessing to these families.
If you're interested in helping with this ministry, contact Nick Stavlund. We need people who are ready to cook food for these families as they meet together once every couple of months. We also need people to serve the food and to welcome these families.
