1 Samuel 12:25 In this message Dr. Hostetler compares Samuel's instructions to the nation of Israel to what a prophet would say to our nation today. For the prophets the heart of being Godly was treating people justly. This included taking care of the needy, the orphans and the widows...in other words, taking care of people. When we consider if America is a Christian nation we look at the ways we take care of people. There is no perfect gauge, but the national budget is a beginning place. Even then, it is difficult to determine what makes a nation Christian, Being a Christian nation certainly begins with Christian people and the church being truly Christian.
