Being Minister of Music is my dream job! It is a joy to work with the choir, the soloists, the instrumentalists, the Praise Team, and on and on…here at Chaparral. It is a privilege to play service music and hymns on our beautiful Casavant pipe organ. It is an adventure to incorporate the children’s and teen choirs into Worship. This is what I do, but who am I? My degree was from Oberlin College and Conservatory in Ohio, with graduate study in New York City at Union Theological Seminary School of Sacred Music, then an honorary Doctorate from Hope University, in Fullerton, CA. I have been an accompanist with the Phoenix Boys Choir, played with the Phoenix Symphony, and sung with the Phoenix Bach and Madrigal Society. I love classical music, but also have a passion for contemporary Christian, Gospel, country, ethnic and jazz. My husband of 41 years, Larry, was the founding minister of Chaparral; it has been exciting to watch the church grow and minister in the community. We have three married children and eleven grandchildren…all living in Phoenix.
