Dear Chaparral Family,

Let me begin with the "big" news: Chaparral will not be reopening on July 5 after all. Let me give you a bit of my sermon notes for this upcoming Sunday:

“in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” Philippians 2:3-4

Valuing the interests of others over our own is how we live “A Just Life.” Do I want us to gather together again? YES! Am I sick of staring into a camera lens? YES! Am I encouraged that baseball is back? YES! But here’s what the Elder's know: this is not the right time for us to gather together in a large group setting. Much like what we have said before, we’re not going to assign a date for reopening, but we hope it is sooner rather than later. Stay tuned.

Our church has done an incredible job through this time in continuing to press forward even amidst a pandemic. I’ll be sharing a bit of that as well on Sunday, but I put this out as a reminder of what we have been saying throughout the shutdown - the church never closed. Let’s commit to keeping Chaparral strong

I’m grateful to be in this with you. See you guys (online) soon!

Peace,

Austin Martin
